Volume 1 Number 30

The Editor's Desk:

August 1 - August 7, 2010

Our mission is to present spiritual responses to some of the greatest challenges that life has to offer: events like death of a loved one, breakup of a relationship, serious accident or illness, crises of identity, recovery from addiction, loss of job or career, retirement, and other life-altering events.
It's Sad to Say, "Goodbye!"
That's right: after only 24 issues, it's time to say, "Farewell" to the Spirit in Crisis Journal. Hope springs eternal, but, in this very preoccupied world, our hopes are very often disappointed. That's the way of life: but each ending brings with it lessons learned and hopes for new beginnings. Please read the letter at the bottom of today's edition for more information. In the meantime, "Thanks!" to both our dedicated contributors and our equally-dedicated readers. It was you who made this e-Zine possible!

At the same time, the Spirit in Crisis Journal won't be going away completely. Our inspired articles will remain here for you to read and re-read at your leisure. Also, I'll be cross-posting my regular articles from the Midlife Mastery Journal here, as well. So, keep coming back to visit: You're always welcome!

Going Straight to Source

May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. The Stone that Split in Two…

The Stone that Split in Two…

Several months ago, just prior to a retreat we were facilitating, I was guided to get new rocks for The Power of Our Way Medicine Wheel. With 46 stones in all, I knew I’d be making a trip to a local landscaping company and was thrilled to see endless palettes with every kind of stone you could imagine. [Continue]

When the Impossible Isn’t

One of the most pervasive obstacles we face in transcending limitation is in our perception of possibility and potential. [Continue]

Coming into Your Medicine – Your Inherent Tools for Empowerment

Last year, during a presentation, I spoke of the phenomenon of coming into or receiving your “medicine.” I had recently experienced and witnessed some profound things that are still changing me and gifting me with new “medicine.” [Continue]

Cultivating a Welcoming Place for Receiving

Are You Welcoming or Repelling the Arrival of Good? This is a question I've been asking myself lately and honestly, I've been experiencing a conscious awareness of both, and taking responsibility for my shift when needed. On some level, no matter your focus or prayer, you desire to receive something. [Continue]

A Time of Resurrection and Liberation

This week, millions of people around the globe will celebrate Easter, a day that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For those honoring the Jewish tradition, Passover is a celebration of bridging over into new consciousness and honoring our ancestors’ liberation from generations of enslavement. [Continue]

Do We Co-Create Our Miracles?

Maybe it was being told I was dying. Maybe it was realizing my marriage was doomed from the beginning. Maybe it was the extreme fatigue and pain that had become so normal I couldn’t imagine anything else. Maybe it was the little voice inside of me that was whispering, “All of this can change in a moment, Anita. You can co-create a new [Continue]

If You’re Frustrated . . . It Could Be a Purpose Issue

My own words stared me in the face tauntingly. Feeling quite frustrated of late, I had (yes, I said “had!”) to take pause and yesterday, after an intense but beautiful weekend of service, I took the day off and prayed. [Continue]

Becoming a Hollow Bone – Moving Beyond Conflict

I’ve long been heard sharing several foundational teachings found in the work we do with the Power of Our Way Medicine Wheel. Lately, due to the themes I am seeing, one of the most significant of these teachings is; All conflict is sourced in the beliefs we hold within our mind; a mind conditioned through [Continue]

Going With the Flow (F.L.O.W.)

This simple phrase may be one of the overused, underutilized and confused phrases being thrown around. And, it is one of the most powerful – and difficult—to truly embrace in our lives. In fact, there is a lot of societal pressure to NOT go with the FLOW. After all, it requires total trust and faith to engage the higher forces of FLOW. [Continue]
